Chisholm Institute of TAFE
Control Room Implementation
Chisholm Institute of TAFE wanted to bring all their security teams spread across the 8 face to face campuses together and provide real time solutions and assistance as required. There had been issues aligning the teams in such a way with communications being the major setback. Some other challenges to not having a Control room were:.
- Slower incident response in accurate information gathering out of hours alarm calls that were not being followed up
- A sophisticated CCTV system utilising pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras but no one to operate them
- Cross campus communications and the ability to send one message to the security teams instead of delivering once per campus
In 2021 Nationwide commenced the contract within Chisholm and under the guidance to achieve the vision of a Control room shared by Chisholm management, the Control Room was created and serviced by NCS Control Room qualified officers.
- Created Roster to commence and conclude in accordance with Chisholm Hours including weekends and Public Holidays
- Fresh Policies and Procedures written by NCS officers in
conjunction with Chisholms needs - All phones line diverted to an online Phone platform manned by Control Room operators
- Creation of daily Log sheets kept by Control Room operators
- Highly trained Control Room operators that can up skill the rest of the team on a daily basis
- Investigations into out of hours Alarms leading to a reduction in Patrol despatches
- Faster and more reliable information around incident response
- Ability to dedicate a Control Room operator to higher level
